What’s new
Every update, dated.
The theme, PasteTheme Plugin and Pro, release by release, straight from their changelogs. Security fixes and new features are marked. Your site gets each one through WordPress’s own updates, and Setup’s What’s new card shows the same lines on your dashboard.
14 Oct 2026
PasteTheme Plugin 0.27.0
- Fixed: a changed stylesheet or script reaches returning visitors at once. Each file's version now includes when the file last changed, so a browser holding last week's copy fetches the new one.
- New The Prices section takes two to four plans. Type a word in a plan's top tag (Recommended, Most popular, Best value) to mark it, a yearly price shows its monthly figure by itself, the list is ticked, and a line left empty does not show. The plans' rows line up and their lists show the same number of lines, the rest under See more. Add another plan, or list items plan by plan.
- Renamed: this plugin is PasteTheme Plugin, and Pro is PasteTheme Plugin Pro. The free theme is PasteTheme. Folders, settings and keys are unchanged.
- New Setup's first step, Add the theme, installs the free PasteTheme theme in one click with WordPress's own theme installer and activates it; installed already, it reads Activate the theme.
- Changed: Design's Preview draws dark-mode links the way the theme does (yellow on the theme's own colors).
- New PasteTheme Plugin asks for its licence key. The key, or a licensed PasteTheme Plugin Pro on the same site, opens pasting, Setup, the settings screens, the section library and the AI connection. A site without a key keeps showing every page it has, and its contact form keeps sending.
- New One key for both plugins. A PasteTheme Plugin Pro key typed into either plugin switches on the other one too.
- New A section your AI wrote keeps its own look when you paste it, its own styling included and kept to that section, and its words and pictures still change with a click. Only a script in a pasted section is left out, and the note says so.
- New Pick a ready-made section shows a picture of every section in eight groups, with search on top. An empty section opens on two choices: pick a ready-made section, or paste what your AI wrote.
- New One Prices section: three plans side by side, the middle one marked, list items added and removed plan by plan. It replaces Two prices side by side; pages that already have that one keep it.
- New Each ready-made site shows its home page on a desktop and a phone, with Preview on your own site before you use it.
- New Design opens on a Preview card that shows your header, a heading, text, a button and a card in your colors, fonts and roundness, light and dark, before you save. Six ready font pairs and the header and footer layouts are pictures, and every font's name is drawn in its own face.
- New Roundness on Design. Square, Soft, Round or Pill changes every corner on the site at once.
- New Reset this card on every Design card.
- Changed: a brand-new site starts on Coming soon until you press Go live, Setup's last step, and Setup counts the pages that still have blanks. A site that already has content stays as visible as it was. The Coming soon page says Opening soon and how to reach the business.
- Changed: after you buy, one card with one key box, then Setup. Every Saved notice reached from a Setup step has a button back to Setup, and Pages & menu opens on one question.
- Changed: the AI screen asks which AI you use, shows only its steps and has a Make a key button.
- Changed: a contact form that is turned back keeps what the visitor typed and says what to do.
- Changed: the editor calls a clicked field Heading, Text, Picture, Button, Link or Video, with Click and type. WordPress's welcome guide is closed once per login, and the search listing fields sit in the side panel.
- Changed: less to read and scroll. On a phone the tabs are one list and the first card is on the first screen; Go live shows three checks with a button each; Settings opens on Site features; What's new shows the newest version.
- Changed: the theme is no longer inside the plugin. PasteTheme, the free theme, downloads from pastetheme.com, and while this plugin runs its own Home page is your front page, never the theme's start page.
- Changed: updates come with your licence from pastetheme.com.
- Fixed: your PasteTheme Plugin settings are kept when WordPress's own Settings > General screen is saved. Before, one Save Changes there could reset them (email, the form recipient, Coming soon).
- Updated Freemius SDK to the latest version.
13 Oct 2026
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.29.2
- Fixed: a changed stylesheet or script reaches returning visitors at once. Each file's version now includes when the file last changed, so a browser holding last week's copy fetches the new one.
- Changed: the live Edges strip is a pale tint of your second accent color (yellow on the theme's own colors), light and dark.
- New Sites in a turning row in the section pack: your sites or projects as cards standing in depth, turning on their own and stopping while pointed at, with arrows, dots, the arrow keys and a swipe.
- New Questions, list and answer in the section pack: the questions in a list and the picked one's answer beside it on a computer, each opening under itself on a phone.
- New Compare plans in the section pack: what is in which plan as one table, groups that open on a press, a check, a dash or the plan's words in each cell, key rows first with Show all features, and a tab per plan on a phone.
- New Pricing table in the section pack. Buttons above the plans switch every price and button between your periods (yearly, monthly, once, named by you), and a plan with sizes (sites, seats) gets a picker that changes its price and button.
- Renamed: Pro is PasteTheme Plugin Pro, on top of PasteTheme Plugin; the free theme is PasteTheme. Folders, settings and keys are unchanged.
- Fixed: your PasteTheme Plugin and Pro settings are kept when WordPress's own Settings > General screen is saved. Before, one Save Changes there could reset them (mail, the form recipient, Coming soon).
- Updated Freemius SDK to the latest version.

PasteTheme 0.9.0
- Fixed: a changed stylesheet or script reaches returning visitors at once. Each file's version now includes when the file last changed, so a browser holding last week's copy fetches the new one.
- New The start page has a hero (the heading and its lines on the soft fill, a quiet glow of the look's colors, the PasteTheme swoosh in a square beside the words) and its three steps and the padlock steps sit on cards, with a Copy button on each prompt. The words are unchanged.
- Renamed: the theme is PasteTheme everywhere, in one folder, pastetheme (the copy named Paste is retired); the plugin it recommends is PasteTheme Plugin.
- Dark mode links are the logo yellow, like the buttons and icons; the eight looks keep their own lighter links.
- New A sixth header, the side menu (a rail down the left from 600px wide, the usual bar on a phone). "Links to sections on this page" is listed with the headers.
- New Named block styles for WordPress's own blocks: Outline (button), Card (group), Plain (quote), Plain (list).
- New The PasteTheme mark is the site icon until you choose your own; nothing is written to your site.
- New A print stylesheet: black on white, no menu, buttons as words, link addresses after links in the text.
- New A menu with no name (WordPress's stand-in list of pages, before you build a menu) is named "Menu" for screen readers. The Green and Purple looks' dark-mode buttons are a shade deeper, so their words reach 4.5:1.
- New The start page carries two more prompts to copy (a services section and a contact section) and the steps for a free padlock through Cloudflare. The readme has the same steps.
- New Four more looks, Mono, Navy, Orange and Yellow, each with its own dark colors and dark-mode link, so the eight cover the primary colors. Every look is now two tones of one color; Red and silver is Red, with maroon in place of the silver.
- New Two more headers (centered with a button, and over the first section with light words) and one more footer (three columns with a "Join the list" sign-up form).
- New Six starter sections in WordPress's own blocks (hero, about, services, contact, prices, a closing note) under the PasteTheme category, offered when a new page opens.
- New A second layout for the posts page, a grid of cards in even rows.
- New Right-to-left ready (the stylesheet is written in start and end) and a translation template, languages/pastetheme.pot.
- New A fresh site's front page is the theme's start page (what the theme is, the prompt to copy, where to paste, how the plugin makes it editable) until you choose a page in Settings, Reading or publish your first post. It never shows while PasteTheme Plugin runs.
- New A section pasted into a Custom HTML block fills the screen's width, with the site's content box inside it; a pasted section that brings its own colors keeps its words readable in dark mode.
- New The pattern "Paste your AI's section", offered when a new page opens and under Patterns. WordPress's own pattern library is on again while PasteTheme Plugin is not running.
- New A pasted form gets the theme's form look. A form the theme cannot send has its Send switched off and says so in one line, on the page and in the editor.
- The notice is one paragraph of plain links: where to choose the front page, the header and footer layouts, the pattern for pasted sections, the plugin (it says it is paid) and the Ko-fi link.
- The menu of a site that has not built one starts with Home while the front page shows posts.
- The "Sub-nav for a long page" pattern is now "Links to sections on this page", with plain links (Section one, Section two, Section three, Contact). The header layout with a button uses the site's own Contact page, and has no button on a site without one.
- Plainer names: the colors Subtle background, Second accent and Text on accent; the font Quicksand; the footer heading Contact.
- A quote has a look of its own. The theme's picture on the Themes screen shows the theme by itself.
- New The dark color is a very dark gray instead of navy, in the light and dark schemes and in the Blue, Green and Purple styles; Red and silver keeps its own graphite.
- New In dark mode the accent is the logo yellow with dark words, the red comes second, and links are a lighter red.
- New Buttons are the plain accent color with a soft light shine along the top.
- New Pictures in Image blocks and galleries open larger when clicked.
- New A "Sub-nav for a long page" pattern: a slim bar of links to the sections of a page, with a button on the right.
- Dark bands stay dark in dark mode, and the hero glows are softer there.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.26.0
- New Five ready-made sections under Patterns: a hero with three pictures and numbers that count up, cards with a crop of a screen, tabs that change the picture beside them, a row of pictures that slides sideways, and a dark band of rings and figures.
- New Gentle motion for sections: parts rise in as they come into view, numbers count up and rings fill. It loads only on pages that use it and stays still for anyone who asks for less motion.
- New Glassy buttons on Design → Colors. On, buttons carry a soft light shine along the top; off, they are flat.
- New Pictures in pasted sections open larger when clicked, on by default, with the picture's description below it; the back button or Escape closes it. The switch is on Design → Colors.
- PasteTheme's screens use the new very dark gray.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.29.1
- Section pack: seven more sections, twenty-eight in all. Three heroes: "Hero, screens that move with the scroll" (the pictures follow the page's scroll, no script), "Hero, words beside a picture or switcher" and "Hero with a fan of pictures that turns" (up to five pictures fanned like a hand of cards, the middle one large; add or remove pictures and the fan follows). Four live strips a visitor can press: Edges, Looks, Preview and Paste.
- Section sidebar: a Ground panel. Give any section a soft glow in your accent colors, or a picture with a vignette you set from 0 to 100 so the words stay readable, light and dark.
- The top bar, announcement, popup and mega menu use the new very dark gray when your colors do not set one.
8 Oct 2026
PasteTheme 0.8.3
- New The space at the edge of the screen follows WordPress's own side padding (Styles → Layout → Padding), so sections, the header and the footer move together. A header or footer saved before 0.8.3 keeps its own until you pick a layout again.
- The centered footer's contact line is centered on phones too.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.25.0
- New Preview at every size. See a page at desktop, laptop, tablet and phone widths at once, or any width you type, from Pages & menu or the editor's Preview menu.
- New Add another card. Click a card, plan, quote or list item in a pasted section and choose Add another or Remove; the layout stays as it is.
- New New on Design: boxes for your Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X and TikTok addresses put the icons in your footer.
- New Side spacing on Design → Layout: how much room sits between the screen edge and your words, logo and menu, the same setting the Site Editor shows.
- New Links on the Plugins screen: Setup, Get Pro (gone once Pro is on), Guides and Rate PasteTheme. Setup's Pro card links to the short movie of what Pro adds.
- What's new on Setup shows each piece's last five updates with their dates, security fixes and new features marked.
- A page's share picture is shared at its full size, and X gets it too.
- After two weeks with three sections pasted, the foot of PasteTheme's own screens asks once for a review; Not now, Done or the review itself ends it.
- What your AI did says what went wrong in plain words.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.29.0
- New Page cache on Settings. Pages are saved the way visitors saw them and handed to the next visitor before WordPress loads, so they open many times faster. You choose what is saved (pages, posts, lists, the shop) and which pages are always built fresh. Logged-in people, carts, checkout and search are never saved, any change clears it, and it will not switch on next to another page cache or a host that already keeps pages.
- New Forms in steps. In the form builder, start a new step at any field; visitors see one step at a time with Back, Next and "Step 2 of 3", and the form still sends as one.
- New Several files in one upload box. Switch on "Allow several files" and visitors can send up to five files at once, each kept privately with the message.
- New An easier Redirects card. Type the old address, pick the page it goes to, Add redirect, then Try it; each redirect has Try and Remove, and a page not found offers Send this address to a page in the toolbar.
- New Get-design and set-design read and set the side spacing.
- Your name on it reaches the What's new lines and the Paste theme's words.
- Your AI's set-design no longer fills the error log with width warnings.
7 Oct 2026
PasteTheme 0.8.2
- The author link goes to the theme's own site, pastetheme.com/about/.
- The theme no longer loads language files itself; WordPress does.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.24.2
- New What's new on Setup. Each PasteTheme piece shows what its last update brought, with security fixes and new features marked; a waiting update says what it brings, and Check for updates asks WordPress now.
- The Messages tab opens (it said "Cannot load"), and the Messages screen has the tab row too.
- Settings, Connections & keys has a Test it button that opens the test email on Forms, Email.
- Works with the theme under either of its names: PasteTheme from pastetheme.com, or Paste.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.28.2
- Pro shows on Setup's What's new with its version and its newest changes (with the free PasteTheme plugin 0.24.2 or newer; on an older one the card is simply not there).
6 Oct 2026
PasteTheme 0.8.1
- Footer social icons: each footer layout has a row of social icons (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, TikTok). Add your addresses in the Site Editor; an icon without an address never shows, so a footer you have not filled in looks the same as before.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.24.1
- The PasteTheme screens have tabs along the top, so you can move between Setup, Pages & menu, Design and the rest without the side menu.
- The footer Make these pages writes has a social icons row, filled in the Site Editor. Adding your social addresses keeps the Header & footer card on its layout.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.28.1
- New Clean up AI copy on Pages & menu. It finds the long dashes AI writing leans on and the invisible characters it leaves in copied text, on every page and post, shows each change, and saves them with one button. A long dash becomes a comma; code, styles and section settings are never touched, and each page keeps its old version in its revisions.
- Needs the free PasteTheme plugin 0.24.0 or newer.
5 Oct 2026
PasteTheme 0.8.0
- Four style variations under Styles → Browse styles (Blue, Green, Purple, Red and silver), each with its own dark colors, so dark mode follows the pick. They change colors only; your fonts stay. A child theme's variation sets its dark colors in settings.custom.dark.
- Three header layouts and three footer layouts as patterns: Replace on the header or the footer in the Site Editor offers them (logo left and menu right, centered, menu and a button; four columns, one row, centered). Your logo, name and menu carry over.
- Words on the red accent are dark now, on buttons, step numbers and bars: they read 4.7:1 against the red, over the accessibility bar at every size (white read 3.99:1). The red itself is unchanged.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.24.0
- New The Cloudflare Turnstile spam shield is part of the free plugin. Paste the two keys of a free Turnstile widget on Settings → Connections & keys and every form shows Cloudflare's check above Send, on top of the trap field, fill-time and flood guards. Switches on Forms → Spam protection: every form (on), the shop's account forms (on), the WordPress login page (off). Nobody is refused until one check has passed with your keys. External services says what Cloudflare receives.
- New New on Design: a Look card with the theme's ready-made color sets (light and dark; your fonts stay as you set them), and Header layout / Footer layout choices on the Header & footer card, from the theme's own patterns. WordPress keeps both, so the Site Editor shows the same.
- New New for your AI: write-post. Your assistant can draft a blog post: the body goes through WordPress's own post filter, each heading, paragraph, list, picture and quote becomes a block, and it is saved as a draft for you to read and publish.
- New New on AI: What your AI did, the last hundred calls your keys made, with the page or post each one touched and whether it was done, failed or refused.
- New New sites: a page made from Setup carries its own heading, so no big page title sits over a small section. Making pages puts WordPress's untouched Sample Page back to a draft. The footer's tagline line shows only while the site has a tagline.
- One welcome notice on the Plugins screen after activation, shown once. The four cards on Security & people open by default. The AI screen names a locked-out address as the cause and says where to clear it. With "Let an AI connect" off, each profile says in plain words where keys went.
- Security The lockout count clears only when an editor logs in; the form flood guard follows the proxy switch; the uploads rule catches more PHP file types and is refreshed on sites that set it on an earlier version; the Site owner role cannot upload HTML or JavaScript files; the visit counter caps new addresses per day.
- An SVG that states no size is remembered as such, not read again on every Media Library load.
- Forms: a field added to a form inside a layout box lands beside the others; SVG icons and yes/no attributes come back unchanged after a save.
- Switch: plain and styled pages convert through one converter; the log counts the script or style blocks left behind.
- Accessibility: hint text at WordPress's own description grey, and names for screen readers on three table headers.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.28.0
- The Cloudflare Turnstile spam shield is now part of the free PasteTheme plugin (its keys on Settings → Connections & keys, the switches on Forms → Spam protection). The builder's per-form switch stays and uses that check.
- New New for your AI: get-design and set-design. Your assistant can read the site's colors, fonts and widths and change them from a fixed list: a color per named slot, light and dark, a font the site already has, the site and text widths. It saves the way the Design screen saves, so every earlier version is in the Site Editor's Styles → Revisions. No CSS.
- The red top bar uses the accent itself, so its words meet the accessibility bar with the theme's new dark-on-red words.
- Switch: a styled page converts through the free plugin's converter. Old-theme-only CSS rules that are left out now follow the carried CSS in one closing comment, ready to copy back.
- Needs the free PasteTheme plugin 0.24.0 or newer. Update both together.
3 Oct 2026
PasteTheme 0.7.11
- The site width is now the Wide width in Styles, Layout: change it there and every section, the header and the footer follow. At the default width nothing moves.
- Words on the accent are white and bold, with a soft shadow on buttons and step numbers. A seventh palette color, Link, is a shade of the accent until you pick one. A seventh, largest spacing step.
- A page typed in the editor (a legal page, a shop account page) shows its title as the page heading; a page built from sections keeps its own.
- A page shorter than the window keeps the footer at the bottom of the window. The footer pattern shows the logo, like the header.
- The open phone menu draws its lines the full width of the menu, on a built menu and on a new site's automatic one. Short menu links and the submenu arrow get a 44px tap area on tablets and phones.
- Two card grids one after the other keep a gap. A section without a color of its own uses the page's own background, not white. A long email or web address wraps on a phone.
- A page built with a page builder plugin gets the full width under the header, and the builder's own full-width template keeps the theme's header and footer (new header.php and footer.php for plugins that draw a page with their own template).
- A section pasted without a content box keeps off the screen edges. Android phones see a size-matched system font while Quicksand loads.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.23.0
- New A Layout card on Design: Site width, Whole screen and Text width, stored as WordPress's own Wide and Content width, so core blocks, pasted sections, the header and the footer all follow (block themes). Typing the theme's own number removes the override.
- New Link is a seventh color on Design, Colors. Left alone it follows the accent; a picked color holds; "back to a shade of the accent" returns it. Design, Colors now stores only the colors you changed, so a theme update reaches a site that has saved.
- New The drop zone has a Ready-made sections tab. Forms: Open the page opens the editor on that form's section, already picked. Setup ends with Report a problem.
- Pictures: when your AI swaps a picture, the new one gets its smaller copies for phones, and so does a picture swapped in the editor. Pictures in sections pasted before 26 September get them too, in a one-time pass; nothing to re-paste.
- Fonts: a Google font you added is preloaded, so text no longer jumps; a font your AI names only in its CSS is offered on the Fonts card, one click to add.
- Forms: a file box is left out of a form while nothing on the site can send files (it took a CV, said "sent" and dropped it). Another plugin can add form fields its script creates; they reach your email. The forms screens say so plainly on a server without PHP's dom extension.
- Ready-made sites use the full width and show your section edges. The notice says a page with the same name is rewritten (the old version stays in revisions) and the menu is set to its pages. An AI installing one keeps your existing pages and menu links and says so. Ready-made sites can come from other folders (filter pastetheme_preset_dirs). The Small business call to action no longer asks for a photo the form cannot take.
- Paste: a note when onclick handlers or javascript: links are removed (they went silently). A section pasted without the prompt's content box keeps off the screen edges, on other themes too. A paragraph written as <p/> can be edited. Changing a section's Width updates its stored code. The editor says when a section holds old design settings the page no longer shows, and how to fix it. The section prompt asks AIs to put commands and code in <pre><code>, so they stay copyable.
- Switch: step 4 also clears the scheduled jobs of the plugins it removed; AIOSEO titles are found on servers with lower-case table names; plain typed pages convert; the old main menu carries.
- AI keys no longer see files visitors send through forms; a wrong or revoked key gets a clear answer; a tool the site does not have answers "not available on this site". With "Let an AI connect" off, every profile says application passwords are off and links to the switch.
- Security PHP's X-Powered-By header is removed from front pages. The daily file check (when on) no longer re-flags your host's must-use plugins, reads .htaccess SetEnv lines, names host settings files, emails you when an administrator appears outside WordPress's user screens, and compares big plugin folders a few a day. Site checks lists pages whose old sections lost their styling.
- Fixed: SVG logos show proper thumbnails in the Media Library. Floating header: pages start faster and in-page links land right under it. Slight curve preview is as shallow as the real curve. Long words in admin help text wrap on phones. Stacked grids keep the grid gap; an icon badge inside a card keeps its light tint. Safe mode names the profile-key limit. A dead "needs WordPress 7.1" notice is gone.
- Uninstall removes the per-person notes and the file-check settings.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.27.0
- Files visitors send through forms are private: kept under random names in a folder no visitor can open, linked from Messages and the email for a login only, out of the Media Library grid, and removed with their message.
- New Pages & menu, Add a ready-made site from a zip made by Download the zip, with Remove.
- The SEO backup carries each page's video entry and the business details; a backup that lacks a field keeps the site's own value. Several videos per page for search. The search data block can no longer be ended early by a page title.
- Image clean-up covers templates, parts and patterns and works through big libraries.
- The announcement, popup and top bar fall back to white words on a theme without the palette. Faster files also writes the two security headers some hosts drop.
- Flamingo messages keep the sender's email; the CSV puts the message in its own column.
- Switch drops old-theme-only CSS rules instead of pasting them into Additional CSS. A pasted @import font is named again.
- The library's Video section embeds the current home movie; library placeholders come from your own site. New AI ability get-section-code. Apply keeps a Boxed section boxed. The page-type menu fits the sidebar. A lapsed license still previews field styles in the editor.
- Needs the free PasteTheme plugin 0.20.0 or newer.
1 Oct 2026
PasteTheme Plugin 0.22.1
- New A "Footer contact line" on Design, Header & footer. What you type there (your email address, phone number and hours) fills the "Get in touch" paragraph of the footer that "Make these pages" wrote, for as long as that paragraph is still PasteTheme's own. An AI can set it too (`pastetheme_footer_contact`).
- Site checks: on a site reached through Cloudflare, a new line says whether wrong passwords are counted per visitor, and names the switch that does it (Settings, Advanced, "Behind a proxy or load balancer").
- Faster first paint: the section stylesheet is small, so WordPress now prints it into the page instead of asking for one more file.
- Fixed: in a pasted section a row of buttons straight after a row of cards, steps or pictures sat against them. It now keeps a gap.
- The ready-made Contact section no longer mentions adding a photo (its form has no file field).
PasteTheme Plugin 0.22.0
- New Videos. Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link on its own into a section's paste box (or have your AI pass it) and it becomes a section with that video. A video in any pasted section is now a field: click it in the editor and paste another link, or change its name, in the sidebar. Watch pages, youtu.be links, Shorts (shown upright), live streams, playlists, start times and vimeo.com links are all read.
- A video now reaches the visitor as a picture with a play button, and the player loads when it is pressed, so the page stays light. On phones and in Safari, which do not let that press start a video with sound, the player loads once the visitor scrolls to it and one press plays. Two new switches under Settings, Site features, both off until you choose them: "Keep video pictures on this site" (your site fetches each video's thumbnail once and serves it itself: sharper, and a Vimeo video gets one) and "Load videos only after a click" (nothing is asked of YouTube or Vimeo before the press, on any device).
- The player is asked for YouTube's cookieless address, to play inside the page on a phone, and to suggest videos from the same channel only; it is told which page it is on, which YouTube now requires.
- For agents: list-sections reports video fields with their title, edit-field takes a YouTube or Vimeo address for one (alt sets its name), and convert and replace-section accept a bare video link.
- Everything in 0.21.2 below, which was not published here.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.21.2
- "Make these pages" points the starter Home page's two buttons at the Contact page. Before, they led nowhere until you gave each a link.
- The footer "Make these pages" writes now follows the site: a new site name or tagline shows there, a page that leaves the site leaves its Pages list, and a link you add to the menu joins it. A line or a list you changed yourself is left alone.
- The edit-field ability takes href for a button field, so a connected AI can say where a button goes, and list-sections says where each button goes now.
- A page a connected AI adds with add-page joins the menu when set-page-live puts it on the site, as the tool always said it would.
- A row of buttons inside a centred section is centred too.
- A card on a shaded section takes the page color, and a small label (pt-badge) is a tint of the text, so both show on any ground.
- Taking WordPress's Sample Page off the site in the pages picker no longer makes the Switch screen appear on a new site.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.26.0
- New The Padlock card on Security & people. Check the padlock asks your own address over https:// and reads who answers; the card then says what is left to do: your host's free certificate, or a free Cloudflare account in front of the site, with the steps written out. Switch the site to https changes both site addresses once https answers, and refuses while it does not.
- Behind Cloudflare set to Flexible (a host with no certificate for the domain), WordPress now treats a visit Cloudflare received over https as https: no more login that goes round in a circle, and no http:// links on an https page. Only requests from Cloudflare's own addresses are believed, and it keeps working if the license lapses.
- When the card finds Cloudflare's setting and your host disagree (its 525 error, or a page that redirects to itself), it names the setting to choose.
- While the padlock rests on Pro (Cloudflare on Flexible), the Plugins screen says so on Pro's row, and deactivating Pro puts the site back on http:// instead of leaving it unreachable.
- Setup's Go live step links to the card while the site is still on http://.
- New Faster files on Settings. One button writes compression and a one-year browser cache for CSS, JavaScript, fonts and pictures into the site's .htaccess file, proves the site still answers, and puts the file back if your host does not accept the rules. Remove the rules takes them out again. On a host that does not read .htaccess files the card says what to ask the host for.
30 Sep 2026
PasteTheme Plugin 0.21.1
- Switch, step 4: the list of plugins and the old theme is a table again and its rows can be ticked. In 0.21.0 the boxes could not be ticked, and on a phone the screen scrolled sideways.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.21.0
- A style attribute in a pasted section is left out with a short warning, like a style element, so the plugin stores and prints no CSS from a section. A section saved before this version keeps its style attributes in the page, but the plugin no longer prints them; paste it again with the section prompt.
- A pasted section element without the plugin's section class gets it, so it takes your site's look.
- The section classes now cover icons, videos at 16:9, picture grids, a photo behind the words, figures, round portraits and small labels, and the content box, balanced rows, numbered steps and light and dark pictures work with any theme.
- Two new library sections: a picture grid and the team.
- A YouTube or Vimeo embed keeps its data attributes.
- The Google font a pasted section asks for is read only from its font link.
- Authors and Contributors keep the whole block editor in their own posts: only a Site owner login has a page's blocks locked.
- A key logs in only through the standard Authorization header or the copy the server makes of it, never through a header of another name.
- The AI key is made on WordPress's own Authorize Application screen, which "Make a key for my AI" opens; you approve there and come back to the AI screen with the key (with JavaScript on; without it, the AI screen drops the key unread and says to make another). Revoke opens WordPress's own list of keys on that login's profile. The plugin no longer makes, changes or deletes keys itself.
- The client login is added on WordPress's own Users → Add User screen with the Site owner role; the card on Security & people says how and has a button there. The plugin no longer makes logins itself, and its line on Users → Add New User is gone. Safe mode's note no longer mentions logins.
- The daily file check waits for you: it is off until an administrator switches it on under Security & people → Files that do not belong, and nothing is asked of WordPress.org before then. Which plugins come from wordpress.org is read from WordPress's own update check. The two email alerts are unchanged.
- Setup's site checks contact no other server when Setup opens: the PHP line reads what WordPress's Dashboard already checked, and the email-domain line is looked up when you press Look up the domain.
- The Switch no longer reads, shows or copies CSS or code from the old theme or from other plugins. Carry-over takes the accent color and the body and heading fonts from the old theme's own settings. A plain page whose markup carries styling of its own (a style element, a stylesheet link or a style attribute) is no longer converted: it stays as it is, gets a page pack like a builder page, and the Switch log names it. The footer box's log also says when style attributes were left out.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.25.0
- Ready for the free plugin 0.21.0, which leaves a pasted section's style attributes out, as the plugin directory asks. With Pro, a section keeps its inline styles byte for byte: when you paste it, when you edit a field, in the editor and on the page. The inline styles already stored in your pages keep printing on the page even if the license lapses. A section pasted on a Pro site is not given the free plugin's section class, so it keeps the look your AI gave it.
- With the free plugin 0.21.0 the Switch's CSS and code steps run in Pro: the old theme's CSS into Additional CSS (shown to copy until it is there), the Google fonts and the brand, second and dark colors that CSS names, header and footer code from WPCode or Code Snippets into Code in every page, and plain pages with styling of their own converted with their look kept. The results are the same as with the free plugin 0.20.0; only the order of the Switch log's lines differs.
- The section pack's picture grid and team are now "Photo wall with rounded corners" and "Team with tall photos", so they sit beside the free plugin's new picture grid and team instead of replacing them in the inserter.
- The plugin's web address is the pricing page on pastetheme.com.
- Update Pro to 0.25.0 before the free plugin 0.21.0: the free plugin 0.21.0 beside Pro 0.24.0 leaves every inline style out of the page, and its Switch no longer carries the old theme's CSS or code. With the free plugin 0.20.0, Pro 0.25.0 works as 0.24.0 did.

PasteTheme Plugin 0.20.0
- A style element in a pasted section is dropped with a short warning, the way a script always was.
- Sections get their look from the plugin's own stylesheet through a fixed set of class names: a content box, two columns, cards, price plans, priced lists, questions, ticks, facts, forms, buttons and three color tones, in your site's colors, light and dark. The section prompt on the AI screen teaches them to your AI.
- The ten library sections, the starter pages and the ready-made sites use those classes instead of style elements of their own. They look the same.
- A section saved before this version keeps its style element in the page, but the plugin no longer prints it. Paste the section again with the prompt to give it the classes.
- The AI key reaches content only: words, pictures, sections, new pages, page search settings, forms, putting pages live, visits, caches and a named list of settings, all through the plugin's abilities. Its writes to WordPress's own routes are refused except a picture upload (photos only), WordPress gives it no plugin, theme, user, import or export capability, it no longer switches Coming soon or reads comments and the other settings, and it does not log in over XML-RPC. A ready-made site installed by the AI no longer replaces an existing home page.
- Two new abilities: add-page makes a draft page, and set-page-details sets a page's title, address, excerpt, featured image, search title, search description and hide-from-search switch.
- WordPress's Additional CSS is no longer printed a second time by the plugin; WordPress prints it as it always does.
- The If you ever leave card on Settings is gone: there is nothing left for it to move.
- The Switch no longer copies the old theme's CSS into Additional CSS. Its footer box drops style elements as well as scripts, and the page-wide style and script blocks of the pages it turns into sections are not carried.
- An SVG animation in a section that changes a link's address or an event handler is refused, and a data: address is kept only as a picture's source.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.19.0
- Files that do not belong (since 0.21.0 it runs only after an administrator switches it on): once a day the site compares WordPress's own files (and any theme WordPress ships, while the shipped version is installed) with the files WordPress published for your version and language, and every wordpress.org plugin, in use or not, with its published files; it looks for code in the uploads folder or loose in wp-content, for a settings file that makes PHP run a hidden file first, for code that reaches into WordPress's folders by a back way, for a .maintenance file an update left behind, for files the known backdoor kit of September 2026 left, and for database dumps a browser could download. On a big site the plugin comparison and the uploads folder carry on where the last run stopped; an earlier finding the check could not get back to stays listed. A count on the menu, a line in Site checks, the list with what to do on Security & people (Check now, Block web access to these folders, and This one is fine on a file you know), and an email the same day something new appears.
- Alerts: an email the moment a login is given the Administrator role through WordPress (a new user, a role change, a profile edit, or a plugin using WordPress's user functions) or an application password is added for someone who can edit the site, saying who did it; at most ten an hour of each. On by default; a switch on the same card.
- Login lockouts are kept in one setting of their own, so clearing caches no longer lifts them.
- A password-protected page no longer shows the start of its text as its search and sharing description.
- Login lockouts behind a proxy read the address the proxy added (the last X-Forwarded-For entry), so a forged header no longer slips past them.
- Site checks says when WordPress was installed here and that its installer has been closed since, and names any plugin that is installed but switched off.
- The shop page (WooCommerce) and the blog's posts page now carry their own page's search title, description, share picture and share address, the way every other page does; before, a listing had none.
- The oEmbed answer (what another site gets when it embeds one of your pages) no longer names the page's author or links to an author address; it names the site. A login-guessing run read usernames that way.
PasteTheme Plugin 0.18.5
- A form's hidden fields, and any check a plugin adds to the form, now sit right above the Send button instead of after it, so a visitor meets a challenge before pressing Send.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.24.0
- Ready for the free plugin 0.20.0, which drops a pasted section's stylesheet as the plugin directory asks. With Pro, nothing changes on your pages: a section you paste keeps its own CSS, and the stylesheets already stored in your pages keep printing, even if the license lapses. The site's Additional CSS still prints after the theme's styles, a section's inline styles keep their wider list, and the Switch screen still copies the old theme's CSS into Additional CSS and keeps an old page's own style and scripts. With the free plugin 0.19.0 Pro leaves all of this to it, as before.
- A pasted stylesheet with an extra closing brace can no longer reach the rest of the page: the brace is dropped when the section is pasted, with a note, so every rule stays inside its section.
- A key made on the AI screen no longer writes code on a Pro site: it cannot replace the Additional CSS, a section it sends is kept without its script, and it cannot store a page's own CSS and JavaScript. It can still read them; you do all three from the dashboard as before.
- The white label card no longer says your AI can set it with the key from the AI screen. It could not.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.23.0
- Redirects: a rule written with → or => works like one written with ->, and a line that is not saved (not a rule, or pointing at itself) is listed on the card after Save instead of vanishing while the card said Saved.
- The spam shield now covers the shop's account forms: registering and logging in on WooCommerce's My account page ask for Cloudflare's check that you are a person (on by default once the two keys are saved; a switch on the Spam shield card). A second switch, off by default, puts the same check on the WordPress login page, its registration form and any other login form on the site. Nobody is refused until one check has passed with the saved keys (the card has its own check to try them), so a site key that does not list the domain cannot lock anyone out; after that, a login is let through when Cloudflare's server cannot answer or the secret key is wrong. A browser that blocks Cloudflare cannot log in on the login page while that switch is on, so try a login in a private window before you log out. The login page's check is decided before the password result is shown, so a right and a wrong guess look the same without it; a refusal says why instead of "wrong password" and does not count toward the free plugin's login lockout.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.22.5
- Reply from Messages: a Reply box under every message sends your answer from the site's own address (their reply comes back to the address your forms send to), and the message shows when it was answered. The same reply is a REST route (pastetheme-pro/v1/messages/<id>/reply) for a maker's own tools.
- The Turnstile check now sits above the Send button (with the free plugin 0.18.5), so a visitor meets it before pressing.
- The top bar and the announcement bar on "Dark" are drawn as the dark scheme's subtle color on a site in dark mode, instead of a white strip.
- Setting one key of the top bar or the announcement bar over wp/v2/settings keeps the other keys (before, the rest of the bar was blanked).
28 Sep 2026
PasteTheme Plugin 0.18.3
- The settings a key from the AI screen may change are a named list now (the site's name, tagline, logo and icon; the PasteTheme switches, colors, image, section-edge and dark-mode settings) instead of "every PasteTheme setting but a few": a setting added later stays with a person signed in to the dashboard until it is named. The visits counter switch joins the mail and analytics settings on the person-only side.
- A refusal from an ability's own permission check (a Site owner login asked to paste a section, an account without unfiltered_html) reaches the AI with its reason, on the MCP route too, instead of a bare "does not have necessary permission".
- Settings > Connections & keys: "Remove the saved password" is a switch row like every other setting.
- A card with fewer than three rows keeps its Save button in place instead of pinning it to the bottom of the window.
PasteTheme Plugin Pro 0.22.3
- With free 0.18.3 the settings a key from the AI screen may change are a named list, so Pro names its own: the top bar, the announcement bar, the popup, the shop's quick view and sticky cart and the section-edge shape settings, beside Tell Bing and Your business on the map. The head and footer code and white label stay with a person signed in to the dashboard.
- The top bar on the accent colour is drawn 10% deeper than the accent, so its small words read at 4.5:1 or better on a saturated colour (white on pure red measured 4.0:1).

PasteTheme Plugin 0.17.0
- The PasteTheme menu is regrouped by what people come to do: Setup, Pages & menu, Design, Forms, AI, Search & visits, Settings and Security & people, plus the Switch while another theme left something to move. Setup takes Home's address, so every old link lands on it.
- Setup: seven steps, each with one sentence, a status line and where it lives afterwards, and Coming soon or Live at the top, which reads and sets WooCommerce's own Coming soon too, so there is one answer. A new site starts live.
- The pages picker: Home, About, Services, Contact, Questions and Prices, each with a real starter section, the privacy policy and the shop, each with its own "In the menu" tick. WordPress's automatic every-page menu is replaced by the pages you ticked.
- Section edges on Setup and Design: straight, a slight curve or a wave, with a live preview in the site's own colors, light and dark, drawn by the PasteTheme theme.
- Forms and AI are screens of their own. Forms holds your contact form, every form on the site, spam protection and whether the last email left. AI holds connecting your AI over MCP, the prompts for your AI, every key on the site with when it was last used, and the switch that keeps AI training crawlers out.
- The Form panel left the section sidebar. Pasted forms still send, and the edit-form ability still adds, removes, reorders and renames a form's fields in place.
- A page ticked for the menu joins it when it is published, not while it is a draft, and a page moved to the trash takes its menu link with it and gets it back in the same place when it is published again.
- The agent contract moved to docs/AGENTS.md, and the section and agent prompts describe only this plugin.
- Settings → Privacy gets suggested policy text: what the forms, the visit counter, the login lockout and the email log keep, and the Google Analytics case.
- Deleting the plugin removes the Site owner role; a login with that role keeps its account, and reinstalling the plugin gives the role back.
- Pictures and video players below a page's first section load when they are scrolled to; a picture from the media library gets WordPress's wp-image class, so a phone downloads a smaller copy; a block theme's pages with no shop content leave out WooCommerce's classic stylesheets and its jQuery scripts.
- No ?author= address names a login any more.
PasteTheme: the releases before the dates
0.7.10
- One notice on the Dashboard and the Themes screen recommends the PasteTheme plugin. It installs nothing, shows only to people who may install plugins while the plugin is not active, and Dismiss hides it for good.
0.7.9
- The palette is the six colors the theme uses, each named for its job (Base, Contrast, Subtle, Accent, Accent 2, Accent contrast). The five extra swatches named after a hue (Brand red, aqua, blue, lime, yellow) are gone: nothing in the theme used them, and a name like "Brand lime" is wrong the moment the color changes.
0.7.8
- Posts show their comments, threaded, with Reply and the comment form, wherever comments are open. A post with comments closed shows the comments it already has and no form; one with none prints nothing.
- Housekeeping: the readme names the separate plugin once, the code comments no longer name other products or sites, every text file uses the same line endings, and the footer's credit link goes through esc_url().
0.7.7
- Section edges: full-width sections can meet in a gentle curve or a wave instead of a straight line, with the footer following the same shape. A class on the body turns it on (pt-edge–curve, pt-edge–wave, or pt-edge–custom with its own shape), and pt-edge-shade shades every other section so the shape shows. Each section keeps room above and below its content, so the shape never covers a heading or a button, on a phone or a wide screen. Without a class nothing changes.
- The curve is shallow, not as deep as the wave: 3% of the screen width and never more than 48px, so it reads as a gentle bend on a phone and on a wide screen. The wave and a custom shape keep their depth.
- A long unbroken line in a footer column, such as an email address, now breaks inside its column instead of spilling past it on a phone.
- Balanced card grids: cards placed straight inside an element with the class pt-grid fill whole rows by themselves, one across on a phone, two on a tablet and three on a wide screen, and the last row never leaves an empty slot (four cards sit 2 x 2, five sit 3 + 2).
- Numbered steps: an ordered list with the class pt-steps numbers each step in a round badge on the same line as the step's heading, runs the rest of the step full width under both, and lays the steps out in the same balanced rows.
- Pages hold still when the font arrives. While Quicksand is the body or heading font, its latin file is requested with the page's first files, so on most visits it is there before the first paint. Until it lands, text shows in a fallback made from system fonts resized to Quicksand's width and line height (Arial for regular and light text, Verdana Bold for bold), so lines almost always wrap the same when it swaps in.
- WooCommerce's sort box, quantity boxes and login fields are 16px or more on touch screens, so an iPhone no longer zooms in when they are tapped.
- The last element in a section's content box adds no bottom margin, like the first adds no top margin, so a section that ends with a paragraph or a list leaves the same space below as one that ends with a box.
- Bigger tap areas that do not change the look: the logo link and the site name get a 44px tap area on touch screens, and the menu's open and close buttons keep their 44px tap area wherever they show, a short window used with a mouse included.
0.7.6
- The admin notice that recommended the plugin is gone, and the readme names no add-on: the theme works on its own and recommends nothing.
- The phone menu's rows center their words with flex instead of padding arithmetic, so a site's own padding on a menu link (a gradient pill, say) no longer leaves the label sitting at the top of the row.
- A front page that shows the latest posts has a heading above the list (a home template with a translatable pattern), so that page has an h1 like every other.
0.7.5
- A pasted form's submit button is the accent pill again instead of a white text field, and an unstyled form on a dark band shows its typed text (it was white on white). Field edges and the dark-mode button edge are easier to see.
- Printing a page while the dark scheme is on prints black on white instead of white on white, with the light version of any two-scheme picture.
- The phone menu reads as rows again: the words sit in the middle of each row, children are indented one step (on the reading side of a right-to-left site) instead of two, and a tap target is 44px, not 61.
- A section set to Boxed now shares its edge with a full-width one (the rule never matched the wrapper the sections actually use).
- Search results and archives have a heading saying what was searched, and an empty search offers the search box again.
- A post's content is no longer capped at the text column: a pasted section or a wide image can fill the page, while a raw picture wider than the screen no longer scrolls a phone sideways.
- Under a child theme the editor loads the parent stylesheet again, so the canvas matches the live site.
- WooCommerce prices use the link color, which passes AA contrast on both palettes.
- The front page template is gone: a site set to show its latest posts gets the posts list, a static front page is unchanged.
0.7.4
- The footer's starting content is a pattern, so its placeholder words (Pages, Get in touch, Legal, the two hints and the credit line) can be translated. The Site Editor expands it into ordinary blocks the first time the footer is edited.
0.7.3
- WooCommerce: the checkout's country and state dropdowns follow the palette (they were a white slab on a dark site), and related products sit two across on a phone instead of one full-width column.
0.7.2
- WordPress's stock block patterns, and the ones it downloads from wordpress.org, no longer fill the inserter and the Site Editor. A plugin's own patterns (WooCommerce's, for one) stay.
0.7.1
- Header and footer on the content box: the logo, the menu, the footer columns and the credit line now share one edge with the page content on wide screens instead of hugging the screen edges. The bars themselves still span the screen.
- Templates without a pasted section (the 404, a post, the archive) open under the header with the same room a hero has and leave room before the footer; the 404 message is centered.
0.7.0
- Sections sit flush: the block gap WordPress put under the header and between every two pasted sections is gone (it was a strip of page color between two same-color sections, and the first thing above a hero), and the first element in a section's content box adds no top margin. A page that opens with an ordinary block keeps its gap.
- Your own dark colors: the six dark palette colors can be set through the pastetheme_dark_colors option. They print after the stylesheet and replace the theme's dark gray and royal blue; unset ones keep the theme's.
- Light-only and dark-only pictures: an element with the class pt-light-only shows only in light mode and pt-dark-only only in dark, so a section can carry two versions of a picture. Safari drops light-dark() with images, which is why this is a class.
0.6.9
- The header's site title is no longer an h1. WordPress renders the Site Title block as an h1 unless told otherwise, so every page had two h1s (the hidden title beside the page's own heading); it is a plain paragraph now, hidden as before when a logo is set.
- The footer's last line reads "Made with PasteTheme" and links to pastetheme.com (the theme's one credit link, to its Theme URI), instead of "Made with WordPress."
0.6.8
- One content box: 72rem of content with a 1.5rem gutter each side (1200px edge to edge, a common content width), declared once as –pt-content-width and –pt-gutter. A section's .pt-wrap gets that box from the theme, Boxed sections use the same numbers, and theme.json now carries them for core blocks too (wideSize 72rem, root padding 1.5rem), so pasted sections and ordinary blocks share one edge. Core paragraphs in a page or post sit at a 40rem reading measure (contentSize).
0.6.7
- Every element inside a pasted section now sizes as a border box, not only the section's direct children. CSS an AI writes assumes a global border-box reset, and without it a button with a minimum height, or a card with width 100% and padding, grew or overflowed.
- A tall logo no longer swallows the header on desktop: the logo is capped at 40px high on every screen (32px on phones as before), so a square mark stays a small mark.
- Single posts have their own template (title, date, content) instead of the archive's title and excerpt.
- The archive's "Nothing found." line is a pattern, so it can be translated.
0.6.6
- The header no longer repeats the site name beside a logo. The Site Title block is hidden when the logo block holds an image; sites without a logo still show their name.
0.6.5
- The phone menu is a list again: rows sit flush with a hairline between them, children indented one step in the lighter weight, instead of every link floating in white space.
0.6.4
- Footer: the brand row (site title and one line) now spans the full width above the link groups; the column headings line up (WordPress's block gap had been pushing every column but the first down one step); rows sit closer on a mouse and keep the 44px height on touch; the last row no longer leaves a deep empty band.
- Author name corrected to Chattanooga Tshirt.
0.6.3
- A phone held sideways gets the menu button back. WordPress switches its overlay menu on window width alone, so a 844×390 screen was given the full menu inline: it wrapped to three rows and the floating header filled half the screen (78% on a 740×360 phone). The overlay now returns on any short screen, whatever its width.
0.6.2
- Keyboard focus rings on links, buttons and form controls: two rings so one always contrasts, drawn outside the cascade layer so site CSS cannot remove them.
- Phone and tablet breakpoints declared in theme.json (700px and 1100px), which is what WordPress 7.1 uses for per-viewport styles and for hiding a section on one screen size.
- The 44px minimum tap target now also applies on a laptop with a touchscreen, which reports a fine pointer and was missing it.
0.6.1
- Section width: a section set to Boxed in the editor now sits inside the page width with the same gutter as the rest of the content; Full width still lets its background run to both edges.
0.6.0
- A footer built like a footer: the site name and a line about you, then real headings with the pages grouped under them. Two columns on a phone, never one long list, four across on a desktop, and every link a 44px tap target. The legal line sits in its own row with the same gutter as the rest of the page.
- The back-to-top button no longer covers the last line of the footer.
0.5.0
- Light and dark accents: red and yellow on light, royal blue and cyan on dark. Links use a darkened accent on light and the second accent on dark.
- Phone hygiene: form controls at 16px or more on touch screens (no iOS zoom), 44px tap targets on menu links, the menu buttons, buttons, and a scheme switch if a plugin adds one, no sideways page scroll from a wide section, video and embeds shrink to fit.
- Logo sizing: the header sets the logo's real width (264px, the lockup at 40px tall), so WordPress writes matching width, height and srcset sizes and phones load a sharp file. The 40px height rule now applies only to dimensionless (SVG) logos. In dark mode the light logo is hidden only when a dark one exists.
- Child themes: the parent stylesheet loads first, then the child's own.
- 404 page links home through the site's real address (subdirectory installs included) and its words are translatable. The index template says "Nothing found." on an empty search and paginates long lists.
- Tags trimmed to what the theme ships.
0.4.0
- The paste engine (blocks, pipeline, abilities, the setup screen, search fields, hardened defaults), the contact forms, the social and schema tags, redirects and the dark-mode switch moved out of the theme into plugins. The theme is now the design shell only.
- Light and dark color scheme, keyed on the device setting with no flash; a plugin toggle may remember a visitor's choice. Dark values override the palette presets in one place in style.css.
- Optional second logo for dark grounds: when the Site Logo carries a second image with the class custom-logo–dark, dark mode shows it in place of the light one.
- Starter homepage now uses the palette presets, so it reads correctly in both schemes.
- Brand palette: navy contrast, five `brand-*` presets. Quicksand (self-hosted, OFL, variable 300 to 700) on headings.
- One typeface: Quicksand 700 on headings, 400 body, 300 for lead/secondary text. Pill buttons (999px), 1rem form-control radius.
0.3.0 and earlier
- Before 0.4.0 the paste engine, contact forms, the setup screen and the search fields shipped inside the theme. They now live in plugins.
PasteTheme Plugin: the releases before the dates
0.18.6
- Switch, step 3: the pages WordPress draws itself (Shop, Cart, Checkout, My account) no longer offer "Copy the page pack" and "See the old page"; there is nothing on them to copy.
- Nothing else changes on a site. The readme's Description is shorter (the directory shows the whole of it now) and one Save-button line carries its escaping note for Plugin Check.
0.18.4
- Replacing a section that holds a form (a new design pasted over the old one, by hand or by an AI) keeps the form's settings: its thank-you words, and what another plugin set on it. Before, a re-paste reset them.
0.18.2
- A key made with "Make a key for my AI" now reaches the site's content only: the PasteTheme abilities and MCP route, pages, posts, media, menus, patterns, templates, the PasteTheme settings, and the site's name, tagline, logo and icon. Other users, plugins, themes, the mail and analytics settings, the other WordPress settings, site health and key management answer 403 to it, whoever made it (it may read its own login). With Safe mode on, its page, menu, design and settings writes are refused too; pictures still upload. A key made on a user's profile is WordPress's own and is not changed. (0.20.0 narrowed this to content through the abilities.)
- Putting a page live through the set-page-live ability checks the page's own publish capability (publish_pages) by name.
0.18.1
- The ten library sections, the four starter pages and the ready-made sites now say what goes in each place ("Your headline: what you do, in one line", "A customer's words, in their own voice") instead of sample words about a made-up business. Nothing reads as if it came with WordPress, and nothing can go live by mistake as someone else's copy. The layouts and the editable fields are the same.
0.18.0
- One shape for every setting: a row with its name on the left, the control on the right and one sentence under it; on/off is a switch; each card has one Save that stays in view while you scroll. Every card on every screen is drawn this way now. Nothing changed in what is saved.
- Connections & keys, a new card on Settings: every login and key the site uses in one place (the Google Analytics id and the mailbox login for now; other plugins add theirs). The screens that use one say so and link there.
- AI screen: two switches. "Let an AI connect" is off on a brand-new site, and while it is off no key works. "Safe mode" is on for a brand-new site: an AI changes words and pictures; a new section for a page that is on the site is saved as a revision for you to approve; a new page or a ready-made site is refused with a note. A site that was here before keeps working as it did (both switches unset).
- After login an administrator lands on PasteTheme's Setup screen, and WordPress's Dashboard no longer shows "WordPress Events and News", "Quick Draft" or the Welcome panel.
0.17.2
- One home for every setting. Setup's steps no longer repeat the forms that live on Design, Pages & menu, Forms, Settings and Security & people: each step keeps its status line and has one button to the screen where the setting is. Extras is four buttons.
- The pages picker and the ready-made sites are on Pages & menu, under the page and menu list.
- Email (sender, SMTP, the test and the recent emails) is on Forms, next to the forms that send it; the "Did it send?" card is gone because the Email card says the same thing.
- The AI screen opens with what your AI can do and the two things it needs; the rest is folded.
- Caches: "Last cleared … ago" no longer names who cleared it.
0.17.1
- Forms: the handler reads only the fields the form itself declares (their names are signed into the form when the page is drawn); anything else posted is ignored. A page cached before this update shows "could not be sent" until its cache is cleared, which the plugin does itself after its own update.
- SVG uploads: only for administrators who may publish raw HTML, a file with markup inside a style or title element is refused, and an animation may not target any namespaced href.
- "Make these pages" no longer closes comments on posts that already exist; closing them all stays a tick of its own on Settings, Comments.
- A site that already has content of its own keeps its comments on when the plugin is first activated; a brand-new site still starts with comments off.
- Fixed: with comments off, a block theme still showed a post's earlier comments. They are hidden there too now, as on a classic theme; nothing is deleted.
0.13.0 to 0.16.0
- Earlier releases: the admin grouped by task, the section library, the MCP server, the image, email, font and shop settings, the rule that stops uploaded files running as PHP (written only when an administrator presses its button), the Switch's cleanup list (nothing ticked until you tick it), and the answers to the first code review rounds (every style and script on WordPress's queue, sections printed through wp_kses with an allow-list, no script attribute and no CSS box, and the security settings off the REST settings endpoint).
PasteTheme Plugin Pro: the releases before the dates
0.22.6
- A reply sent from Messages no longer raises a notice under WP_DEBUG (it read the forms address through the per-form filter). Two lines carry their notes for Plugin Check.
- A refused reply over the REST route answers with a plain status (400 for an empty reply or a message with no address, 404 for a message that does not exist) instead of a 500.
- The Turnstile script loads without a version parameter, so Cloudflare's console warning ("Unknown parameter passed to api.js") on form pages is gone.
- The white label card keeps its own wording after a name is saved (it said "instead of <your name>'s" once your name was on).
0.22.4
- Messages can be read over the site's REST API by an administrator (wp/v2/pt-messages), so a maker's own tools can pick up form messages and problem reports. Nothing changes for visitors or for other roles.
0.22.2
- With free 0.18.2, a key made on the AI screen reaches content routes only. Pro opts its own pieces in on the free plugin's two filters: the abilities get-page-code, get-site-css, set-site-css and export-preset, and the settings the Tell Bing switch and Your business on the map use. set-page-code (a page's own script) and the head and footer code stay with a person signed in to the dashboard.
0.22.1
- The twenty-one Pro library sections now say what goes in each place ("Your headline", "A customer's words, in their own voice") instead of sample words about made-up businesses, the same convention as the free plugin's sections since 0.18.1. Layouts and editable fields unchanged.
0.22.0
- Needs the free plugin 0.18.0: its settings rows, switches and Save bar are what every Pro card is drawn with now.
- Every Pro card is the one form shape: a row per setting with the label on the left, the control on the right and one sentence under it, on and off as a switch, and one Save that stays in view while the card is longer than the window. The announcement bar, top bar and popup, Code in every page and Site-wide CSS, white label, your business on the map, redirects, the SEO backup, the IndexNow switch, the llms.txt card, the existing-images passes on Images, Save this site as a ready-made site, and your own section shape, height and flips.
- Keys live in one place: the search-engine verification codes (Google, Bing), the IndexNow key and the two Turnstile keys are rows on Settings, Connections & keys (the free plugin's card; Pro prints its rows on pastetheme_connections_rows and saves them on pastetheme_connections_save). Their old cards on Search & visits and Forms say whether each key is set and point there, and saving one of those cards no longer touches the keys.
- Safe mode on the AI screen (free 0.18.0) lets Pro's three read-only abilities through: get-page-code, get-site-css and export-preset. Every Pro ability that writes stays refused while Safe mode is on.
0.21.1
- Section edges: Pro's shape, height and flip fields print on Design only, with the free card; Setup's Pick your look step points there (free 0.17.2).
0.21.0
- Needs the free plugin 0.17.0: its new screens are where Pro's cards live now.
- The form builder. Forms, Add a form: five starting points (contact, quote request, booking request, job application with a file upload, blank), fields you add, remove, reorder and retype, options for choice fields, required or not, show-only-when rules, and what happens after sending (address, subject, thank-you words or page, automatic reply, a copy to Zapier, Make or n8n, Turnstile). A live preview in the site's colours and fonts, light or dark; Add to page puts the form on the page you pick through the same pipeline as a paste. Edit form on every row of Forms on the site opens any form, the ones an AI wrote included, and Save writes it back into its section. Every change goes through the free plugin's edit-form and convert abilities. New field kinds: checkboxes (several answers) and a tick box; a field that changes kind gets a row of the right shape.
- The Form panel is Pro's. With the free plugin 0.17.0 it sits in the section sidebar as Form (Pro), with the same parts as the builder, the conditional fields and the per-form settings in it directly. A Site owner login sees no Form panel.
- Messages sits right under Forms in the menu. It has a Form column and a filter by form, the spreadsheet export follows the filter and carries the form's name, and each row on Forms says how many messages its form has had. A question set to show only when another one is answered is shown again if that other question is taken out of the form.
- Section edges: your own shape (upload an SVG or paste its code; cleaned by the free plugin's SVG scrubber, then kept as the outline only), tilt, triangle, zigzag, mountains and clouds, a low, medium or high edge, flip left to right and upside down, all in the Section edges card on Design and Setup with one Save, and a different edge for one section in the page editor's section sidebar. On wp/v2/settings for agents: pastetheme_pro_edge_svg, pastetheme_pro_edge_height, pastetheme_pro_edge_flip_x, pastetheme_pro_edge_flip_y; the block attribute edge.
- Cards moved to where people look: the spam shield to Forms, Save this site as a ready-made site (was Export this site as a preset) to Setup under Choose your pages, Code in every page (was Site code) on Settings, and a card on the AI screen for your pages for AI assistants (llms.txt). After a license key is accepted, the Pro page lands on Setup.
- The free plugin's own card about Pro on Setup comes off while Pro is on: the free plugin prints it from pastetheme_setup_pro_card (priority 99 on pastetheme_setup_cards) and no longer looks for Pro itself; Pro removes it on admin_init. The free plugin's Forms screen names no other plugin.
- Pro now registers the section attributes it stores (js, animation, animationDelay, edge) through register_block_type_args, types its own form settings (recipient, subject, redirect, autoreply, webhook, turnstile) through pastetheme_form_settings, keeps the Turnstile token out of the message through pastetheme_form_skip_fields, and empties a section's script at save for an account without unfiltered_html itself: the free plugin 0.17.0 carries none of these. With Pro on, the section prompt says a script is kept and the libraries load on their own, and the agent prompt points at Pro's own notes, docs/AGENTS-PRO.md (the free plugin's prompts and docs/AGENTS.md describe only the free plugin).
- Messages asks for the same permission as the PasteTheme screens around it (manage_options) for everything: the Site owner login and editors no longer see a Messages item that answered "not allowed".
- The form builder opens the PasteTheme menu with Forms lit (the menu stayed folded).
- Top bar: a typed link with the same address as WooCommerce's Shop, Cart or My account switch prints once (it printed "Shop Cart Shop Cart"). Its shop hint points to Setup, Sell online.
- The Messages spreadsheet file has one column per name whatever its case (it had both "from" and "From"), and plain headers for the four columns every message has: Received, From, Form, Page.
- Section edges: Low and High scale each shape's own depth (half and one and a half times), so Low on the slight curve is shallower than the curve's own default instead of deeper. A section with its own edge gets room above it for its own shape, and keeps the site's depth as room for the section and footer after it.
- Redirects: a renamed page's rule stores the new path, not the site's full address, and rules saved before with this site's full address read as paths, so a site that moves (staging to live, http to https) keeps its redirects.
- Plain words: Your business on the map offers kinds of business (a shop, a restaurant, a builder or other trade…) instead of type names (ptc_local_type still takes any schema.org type on wp/v2/settings); the Learn more notes on the Announcement bar, Top bar, Popup, White label and Save this site as a ready-made site cards name no setting, ability or folder path; US spelling (color, center, license).
- Top bar: WooCommerce's Shop, Cart and My account print only while that page is published (a page in the bin printed a dead ?page_id= link, and a shop with no Shop page printed the home page). On a touch screen with Show on phones too, each link is a 44px row (they were 25px tall).
- Logo strip (library): on a phone the logos sit three across and the last row widens, so five logos are 3 + 2, never 2 + 2 + 1, and every logo is the same size; on wider screens they share one row whatever the count.
- Back on the free plugin's screens through its neutral hooks: Setup's numbers card counts form messages (the binned ones left out); the Switch rows for the old site's SEO, form-log, redirect, code-snippet and image plugins say what Pro carries over and where it goes, and the carry-over line names header and footer code.
- Privacy: Settings, Privacy, Policy Guide has a PasteTheme Pro section: kept messages and their files, automatic replies and connected services, the Turnstile check, the choices remembered in the visitor's browser, the owner's own page code and redirects.
- Setup, Sell online: with WooCommerce on, one line about My T Maker (a t-shirt designer for WooCommerce shops, from the same workshop) and a Get My T Maker link; Hide this hides it for that login, and it never shows while My T Maker is on the site.
- Quick view prints its script and style only on a page that shows a product grid (it was on every page but the cart and checkout: 2.9 KB of script and its style on the home, about, contact and account pages of a shop).
0.20.3
- The client login never sees a code box: the page's CSS & JS panel is hidden for a login without the paste capability, like the section code panel already was.
0.20.2
- The quieter editor for the client login: the welcome guide stays hidden on a fresh account (the preference is saved before the editor loads; a script-set value could be wiped by the editor's own start-up).
0.20.1
- A video on this page: the Search & AI listing box takes a YouTube link, the title, description, upload date, length and chapters, and the page's structured data gets a VideoObject with its key moments. One portable key, _seo_video, on REST too.
0.20.0
- Needs the free plugin 0.16.0. This section's code and Export this site as a preset read a section's stylesheet from where the free plugin now stores it (inside the section, in the page); Apply no longer writes it to the block's settings.
0.1.0 to 0.19.0
- Earlier releases built what the Description lists: the form power features and the Messages inbox, redirects, search-engine verification and the SEO backup, schema and llms.txt, a share image per page, Tell Bing about changes, your business on the map, the visitor dark-mode switch, App Canvas, section JavaScript and its six libraries, animation presets, This section's code, This page's CSS & JS, the section pack, the passes over pictures already on the site, quick view and sticky add to cart, the announcement bar, the popup, white label, a header and footer per page, the mega menu and the top bar. As the free plugin went through its code reviews, each feature it no longer carries moved here, drawn by Pro through the free plugin's neutral hooks.
